Edukasyon, hosted a media event last May 29, 2019 at Rekado Davao to announce the official launch of its Mindanao-based operations. Edukasyon is the leading education technology startup in the Philippines, which aims to empower more than 20 million Gen Z youth (age 13-23) to make better-informed education, career and life choices. Edukasyon operates Edukasyon.ph, a one-stop online platform that offers students tools, resources and content for free. By partnering with hundreds of local and foreign institutions – schools, foundations and corporations – Edukasyon ensures access to opportunities, guidance and solutions that enhance the education to employment journey.
Students can search and apply for schools, courses and scholarships. They can also take personality fun quizzes to find out which schools, courses and jobs they fit in. And soon they will have quick online advice and answers to various education and career questions.

The expansion of its operations to Mindanao allows the company to actively engage with Mindanaoan youth, as well as its growing network of educational and institutional partners. More than 20 schools in the region, including Ateneo de Davao University, University of the Immaculate Conception and Philippine Women’s College of Davao, have already joined Edukasyon’s community of more than 500 schools locally and abroad.

Leading the event were Edukasyon’s Head of Mindanao Charmaine Vanta and Head of Public Affairs Rianna Puno, together with the rest of the local team: Dave Laurentz Alvarez, Vanessa Combate and Camille Petallo.

Gian Carlo Tancontian, Promotions Manager at Ateneo de Davao University, shared his experience on partnering with Edukasyon, noting that up to 40 percent of incoming student applications from February to May 2019 were coursed through the online platform.
Vanta shared more about Edukasyon’s upcoming projects in other local cities, including General Santos City and Cagayan de Oro, where the team is headed in June.
According to Edukasyon CEO and Founder Henry Motte-Muñoz, “In 2018 alone, more than 2 million students from Mindanao visited the Edukasyon platform. We look forward to building up our presence and partnerships in the region to enable us to empower even more Filipino youth.”
