Business ideas for 2023

As a person with a minimum pay salary, two kids, and some monthly bills to pay, making extra money is one of my main goals, and these are the things I consider as I look for a business to start this year.

Iced water and cold drinks

Since we live close to the village’s entrance and exit, my husband and I plan to start a small business selling iced water and soda from our home. This type of business is appropriate if your location is the same as ours. To start, we need to purchase a separate mini-freezer so that ice won’t overflow into your refrigerator freezer. Mini-freezers or chillers range in price from 10,000 to 25,000 pesos. The 100 plastic ice bag units cost about 25 PHP. You can use the local water system that you are using at home, and you can sell it for around 1 to 5 PHP, depending on its size. For soda, you must search for the best supplier that provides fair payment conditions. You will never get wrong in doing this business since one of everyone’s favorite drinks is a cold beverage.

Preloved and Brand-new Baby Stuff

Since I gave birth to a second child this year, I discovered a Facebook community for women and babies where mothers and mothers-to-be were selling new and used baby items. It includes clothes, cribs, diapers, toys, wet wipes, laundry detergent, shampoo, and many more. I also considered purchasing and reselling some baby clothes and necessities online. If you plan to sell garments for babies, you must choose the right vendors who offer them in bulk or bundles. Bundled clothes can range in price from 1,000 to 5,000 PHP, depending on the weight. You can also sell your kid’s outgrown clothing price range starting at 50 PHP and above.  For infant essentials, you need to find the correct vendor who sells legit high-quality products, or you may go straight to the brand and submit an application for a dealership.

Lactating Cookies

One of any breastfeeding Mom biggest worries is producing enough milk. Breast milk supply increases when you consume a lot of green, leafy vegetables, sip seashell soup, or take herbal supplements available at pharmacies. But did you know that eating cookies as a snack can also increase your milk supply? Yes, you read it right, and it’s also an ideal business to run from home. It only takes a few ingredients. This includes peanut butter, white sugar, brown sugar, flax seed, an egg, vanilla, baking soda, salt, oats, chocolate chips, brewer’s yeast, and an oven. YouTube has a ton of video guides that can assist you in doing it. You can sell it by the dozen starting from 260 to 580 PHP.

Inflatables

This type of business is ideal if you enjoy organizing special occasions like weddings, anniversaries, birthday celebrations, and many more. I stumbled upon a page where you could rent an inflatable play set while scrolling through social media. These inflatables are large and bouncy. You can climb, jump, and slide on it too. Most of the inflatables are seen at malls. This is where you can leave your children playing while you run errands there. But did you know it is a unique form of extra entertainment during a gathering or event? Yes, you did read that correctly.  Imagine a wedding reception with a wedding bounce house for an after-party event, or use it as a prop for pre-nuptial photo shoots. I bet it is unique and fun. To have this kind of business, you have to find the best vendor, hire at least one to two workers for delivery, installation, and maintenance in charge, and then rent it out for at least four hours at 1,600 PHP or more, depending on the size of the inflatable. Your customers will surely line up to book your inflatables.
