3 Things I Did During the Davao Bloggers Society “Beach Please!” Acquaintance Party

0

Last June 21, 2025, the Davao Blogger Society held its Acquaintance Party at Hamugaway Beach, Island Garden City of Samal, with the fun theme, “Beach Please!”. As a stay-at-home mom, blogger, and content creator, this half-day event was a breath of fresh air for me. It was not just another event; it was an experience that allowed me to ground myself, savor my me-time mom break, and use my social battery. Here are the three things I did during that day:

1. Grounding Myself at the Beach

It has been a while since I last stepped on the sand, and when I found out the party would be held at the beach, I knew grounding would be on my list. Upon arriving at Hamugaway Breach, I took some photos and videos, then removed my slippers and walked barefoot on the sand and along the shore, letting the cool sea water splash on my feet.

It was calming to feel the roughness of the sand, the softness of the wave, and the salty breeze, reminding me of how simple moments can refresh a tired spirit. It felt like being a kid again, free from pressure and stress, even just for a while. Although I did not get to swim (the party had not started yet). I promised myself that next time, I’ll take a full dip in the sea!

2. Savoring My Me-Time Mom Break

As a mom of a clingy 2-year-old toddler, I consider it a blessing to be needed every day, but let’s be real, Mommy needs a break, too. The daily routines of caring for a toddler and managing home and business can be exhausting, even when you love what you do.

So, I packed my essentials, wore comfortable clothes, and gave myself permission to slow down. I arrived at the venue without worrying about anyone else, ate delicious food with no time limits, and went to the bathroom without rushing back to a toddler calling “Mommy!” every few minutes. It was half a day of slow, steady, intentional rest, and I’m grateful for my supportive family who allowed me to take this well-deserved pause.

3. Using My Social Battery

Being a stay-at-home mom means I spend most of my time with family, and I’m happy with that. But once in a while, I need to use my social battery by connecting with friends. The Davao Bloggers Society Acquaintance Party, one of the group’s major events, was the perfect opportunity for this.

I had a great time chit-chatting with fellow bloggers and content creators, catching up on how life has been, and sharing laughter and stories over food. We played fun games, joined challenges, and even won some prizes! It felt good to mingle with people who share the same passion for blogging and content creation, reminding me why I love being part of this community.

I won TechLife Wireless Headphones as an Engagement Winner.

Won the prettiest eyewear case during the ping-pong ball relay game with this team.

Remaking riding a skylab tricycle during the Paint me a picture game.

We won a P1,000 foodpanda voucher and a P200 Potato Corner Gift Certificate each during the Paint me a picture game.
