Last February 20, 2020 RBG Bar & Grill at Park Inn by Radisson Davao held a bread appreciation gathering and sample tasting of freshly-baked breads by Davaoeño artisan baker Ms. Vanessa Pacheco of Craft Breads and Pastries. A homegrown talent, Ms. Vanessa Pacheco discovered her passion for baking in Canada in 2000. She completed the Artisan Bread Baking and Baking Arts Certificates at George Brown College in 2016. She strives to add to value to her products by focusing on quality, and to educate Filipinos about the science of bread.

Ms. Vanessa led the bread appreciation talk at the gathering. She shared how her passion started, introduced a variety of breads; and, elaborated on artisan breads and their differences. She then conducted a brief demo where I had a better understanding of baking artisan breads. Among the food prepared, my personal favorites are Sourdough, Focaccia Pesto Pizza Sticks, Brioche French Toast and Babka Sizzlers with Bukidnon Vanila Ice Cream.

Park Inn by Radisson Davao will be collaborating with Craft Breads and Pastries starting with its breakfast buffet soon as shared by Marketing & Communications Manager Lish Babela. The hotel will also progressively move towards the gourmet types of sandwiches and toasts, and reintroduce classic favorites together with Craft Breads and Pastries.  Both share the goal of providing guests with hearty and healthy dishes while ensuring fresh and locally-inspired specialties.
